Reflection From The Authorities Badge

Revolution, the word so sweet on my tongue. Since the moment I opened my eyes, I've been fighting one form of oppression or another. It was the idea of someone telling me how to live my life. How to dress, how to act. To follow the footsteps of my father just like his father before him. To have one person hold so much authority over another by a shiny badge, or polished gun.

How was I going to be myself when I was asked not very nicely to walk the line?  To be another part of the machine, to roll in the debt of my forefathers. To be numbered by birth, a figure of worth. Just more slaves to fill the fields or take out windows for nine dollars an hour. No I do not want fries with that. A system designed to fail, and our generations are watching it fall. Tipping the iceberg of falsified debt. We all suffer as the children spend the wages.

Why do we get punished for the mistakes of the few? Blaming us for the environment, while they harvest it guilt free. Controlled protests to take away freedom. Soldiers on the streets, all for the children. News headlines have already been sold, front page ads underneath the global forecasts. Many in prisons for the profit points. Crooks hidden in office, painted as perfection rotten to the core. Dollar signs, deceitful eyes, paid puppet figureheads. And we vote them in...

What is revolution now? One designed to separate us further from the truth. As fear is spread through the screens. Built on the anger of a few, not fighting for the needs of the many. 1 percent, 99% percent. More numbers with no human value. Standing up for your views and forgetting the rest. A revolution in control, who knows you might just win an Oscar. The words are written we just need to fumble the lines, to blame each other on the choreography. While they stand behind the curtains pulling the strings.

Once revolution was beautiful, now it comes with such a wicked tongue. It comes with too many smoking guns. Our enemies our each other, we've glamorized the kings while washing the blood off the queen. Our solidarity is only just a word, to many things separate us at this point. We can't let them win, they can't come in. Forget for this moment that you yourself will save the world and look beside yourself, look to another. We have a world full of ideas, some brilliant and beautiful. There is just so many of us talking right now and it seems nobody is listening. We have to do this together people. All people. Everyone in the world. It is time for the subjects to rise among the royalty, I mean, who says you are not royalty? We each have the same authority, we all we born under this sky.
